How to make your weekly meal plan

Every woman I have met always worries about what to cook for the day. If she has kids then that worry becomes huge! What for my kid to eat at breakfast? What’s for food to cook? What snack should I give my kids? Aren’t those questions something that stresses you too?


The constant stress of every mom

To be honest, I get anxious about thinking of all these questions… There are times that I have asked myself those questions that come to my mind and drive me crazy every day… Also, we should include that some important issues need special treatment like health problems, breastfeeding, losing weight… All those things should be considered to decide what to cook for the next day.

Another important issue to consider is the snacks for your kid. We give our children many useless snacks just because they prefer them to the healthier ones. Well, I think that this is something that we have taught them, a habit. They should indeed eat sometimes chocolate or sugar or sweets, but as the doctors advise us, not too often. So if we teach them to eat healthier snacks we will prevent them from bad health issues. It’s a little difficult, but it’s a decision we have to make and change our children’s habits.


There is only one solution!

I have to admit that I found the thought of weekly planning very helpful. It helped me a lot. Every weekend, I check my to-do schedule for the next week and start making a list of the meals I’m going to cook for the next week. This is very useful for many reasons. Most importantly, not only have I stopped worrying 7 days a week about what to cook, but when I shop at the supermarket I know what to buy and spend less.

Going to the supermarket, without the “list of the week”, if I hadn’t decided from home what I was going to cook for that day and at least the next two, I bought a lot of things. At home I had to decide which one I could use. I had a lot of stuff left in cupboards, fridge and freezer. Sometimes they even ended up breaking and I threw them in the trash! How much food waste

At the same time, the waste I did, not only for the food that ended up in the trash, but also financially for the family was very large. It wasn’t until I started keeping track of my monthly household expenses that I began to understand how wasteful it was. Because I could check every month the money we needed for our food. So I created the supermarket expense list, and now I know how much money we spend on supermarket.

I have learned my lesson and it’s time to help you understand too. So, I created some lists for you to choose the ones you like. Choose the one you like and organize your weekly cooking and eating schedule.

Your kids will just go and check what’s next to eat and they will also accept that they are not free to eat whatever they want. Your husband either will not bother you or he will help you make that program come true! For example, if you work some nights, dad and every child would know what to eat.
