The importance of program to children

Our favorite topics are those of our children. These beautiful little creatures that suddenly come into our lives and change us completely. These creatures for which we have been responsible for many, many years. And we have so much to show them, so much to learn !!!

They come into our lives and make us create a new program for their lives (and ours of course !!!). From the hours we breastfeed them to the least of their daily lives.

There are many who question the value of the program. But when we say that an infant should eat every 3 hours, is this really not a program? A program for infants themselves, but also for moms? The truth, then, is that kids are very fond of the program from their infancy.

An infant has gone through a process of planning his daily life and this is something that gives him great confidence and security. He knows he will cry, or suck his fingers, or a toy to ask for his milk because he has realized that this is his way of communicating and how to get what he needs right now. Then he knows that the affectionate embrace will follow with the wonderful buzz until it flows. Then, at a very young age, he will be sleepy or a little older to play. He will hear his mom singing to him, he will do whatever it takes until the time comes to get his nap. All this is given to be his routine, his daily routine, his schedule. How confused it would be if a different flow were followed on a permanent basis!

In the planned environment an infant / child feels great security for his / her space, environment and for himself / herself. Still, his anxiety is reduced, because yes (!) they have also their own stress. Clearly, there will be many times when the program needs to be diversified. But they realize the difference and so in the next few days / hours it is good to try to get back into our routine.

I often hear them say “but they are not robots” and I wonder if anyone ever talked to them about the importance of programming and after all, we as adults with or without children have a routine that makes us put our daily lives in order. Whether it’s for our rest, whether it’s housework, cooking, or children’s reading. As soon as we get home from work, we want to go home to rest, eat, do our jobs or whatever. Those things makes us feel safe even if we don’t realize it. Let’s also not forget that most women on Saturday will go shopping for the week and clean the house. This is not programming! So, what is the absurdity of helping our children get their own routine?

One can easily seek the advice of the experts who are best qualified to advise us. Planning daily is important. Personally, she helped me a lot with the procedures with the baby and with everything else I had to do as a housewife. As a mother and wife is a piece of advice that I give to every new mother.

Let’s not forget that planning can also give parents more time to prepare food, work, play, or do activities with their child. Even for a bit of free time and rest, two things so important, that are unplanned, and their lack of them creates many problems!

Because things and knowledge are constantly evolving, it is advisable to broaden our horizons and accept that the program serves all members of a family. What about children or infants? They have also their own needs, their own wants and their own insecurities. Let’s look at children with more tender, with more understanding of their needs. Let us show them the way they form habits, their daily lives, and even when something changes and gets out of their routine we can show them how to get back to it.
